Actor Ezra Miller Apologizes For Behavior, But Will Fans Forgive ‘The Flash’?

Ezra Miller has finally spoken. After months of bizarre and unpredictable behavior, not to mention alleged criminal actions, the star of The Flash has made an official statement, released exclusively to Variety.

“Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment,” Miller, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, said earlier this week.

They continued: “I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

It isn’t much, but it is something. Too little, too late? Or just enough apology to appease the masses? (Alleged victims exempted.)

There is no further information available at this time about what kind of “complex mental health issues” Miller is suffering from, nor what kinds of treatment or “work” they plan to embark on in order to get back to that “healthy, safe, and productive stage” of their life.

For Twitter, the mea culpa was insufficient – and had Warner Bros.’ greedy little fingerprints all over it. After all, a $200 million superhero flick is riding on Miller cleaning up their reputation.

We suppose the outcome of all this will be decided not in a courtroom but at the box office when The Flash races onto screens on June 23, 2023. Oh, Hollywood. Just when we thought you couldn’t stoop any lower…
