Add Lime & Salt to July 24, National Tequila Day
It’s National Tequila Day, that historic notch on the calendar when we all give thanks for the Agave plant.
As we all know, July 24th holds this proud distinction because it was on this very day, many years ago, that some PR pro in the booze business thought it’d be a good idea to have a National Tequila Day. I wish I could tell you it was really because General Manuel Margherita won the Battle of Salted Rim outside Guadalajara in 1866, but it what it is. Everything gets its day, and this is Tequila’s turn. Good on ya, Tequila.
According to the minds behind Casa Noble Tequila, the latest Nielsen data states that 52 week dollar sales of tequila are up 2.8%. Meanwhile, the Adams Handbook 2014 reports that tequila sales have risen 5.1%. So, this National Day stuff seems to work.
Now, since 7/24 is only 24 hours long, you can spend it reading about Tequila or pontificating about its tasting notes. Or, you can shut up, grab your mixologist tools and get busy imbibing. To that end, we offer up some of Casa Noble’s latest Tequila recipes because you have a National Tequila Night to think about, too.
