If you have even a passing knowledge of comic books and comic cons then you should be well aware of the cosplay movement. Many fans take their love of comics, video games, movies and TV shows to the next level by creating and wearing costumes inspired by their favorite characters.
But there are trends even within cosplay. At New York Comic Con, the CraveOnline video team couldn’t help but notice all of the Big Ass Weapons that the cosplayers brought to this year’s show. In comics, anime and video games, the fictional heroes and villains can get away with the exaggerated size of their weapons because they exist in a world of heightened fantasy or sci-fi. In the real world, it’s quite a challenge to carry around weapons that are so out of proportion to their users. And at comic cons, it can be even more challenging for the people trying to walk around the cosplayers!
In this exclusive video, CraveOnline features some of the most memorable Big Ass Weapons from this year’s NYCC, including two Harley Quinns, Scarecrow, Dante, Pyramid Head, He-Man, Doctor Octopus, a female Doctor Octopus (Lady Octopus?!) and several characters that even I don’t recognize!
