Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Secret $8.4M Portugal Home Has a Twist — Report

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly own a lavish $8.4 million Portugal home that serves as a vacation property. The Sussexes arrived in the UK on August 26, 2026, for an extended stay while reportedly retaining their homes in Montecito, California, and Portugal. The couple reportedly purchased a vacation home in Portugal three years ago, in 2023.

How the Sussexes’ vacation property fits their international living arrangements

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s extravagant $8.4 million Portugal home serves a unique purpose. The former Suits star has given fans a subtle glimpse of their Portugal home in past Instagram posts, without giving away recognizable details. Their Portugal home serves as their vacation property.

As per The Times, Harry’s cousin Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have split their time in Portugal since 2022. The family connection reportedly made the region especially appealing to the Sussexes, offering an established enclave of privacy far removed from the media spotlight of London.

A source told PEOPLE that perhaps the Sussexes were tempted to buy a holiday home in Portugal because it not only offers scenic views but also privacy. The source explained: “They love Portugal because Archie and Lilibet can simply be kids. It’s always very low-key with beach days, playing and spending time together as a family.”

The insider emphasized that low-profile downtime remains vital for both the couple and their children. To customize the estate, the Sussexes reportedly enlisted the design team behind Soho House to oversee interior renovations, according to the Daily Mail. Representatives for both Soho House and the royal couple have declined to comment on the arrangement.

Interestingly, Harry and Meghan had their first date at Soho House in London in July 2016. Moreover, Soho House has also collaborated with Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever. While maintaining their Iberian getaway, the Sussexes have primarily focused on their day-to-day base in Britain with their children. According to royal commentator Tom Sykes, Harry and Meghan have been residing at financier Ian Wace’s private country estate. Between their roots in the English countryside, their Montecito holdings, and their European hideaway, the couple appears to have secured a multi-property setup designed to balance public ventures with complete family privacy.
