The Duke of Sussex said he wanted to move past years of conflict with his family, especially his strained relationships with his father, King Charles, and older brother, Prince William. “Of course I do,” Harry said when asked about reconciliation. “The most important thing is to reconcile. That’s the key point.”
Harry’s comments publicly showed his desire to make peace with his family after years of tension following his and Meghan Markle’s decision to step back from their senior royal roles in 2020. The couple later spoke about their experiences within the royal family during a high-profile interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Harry also discussed several family disputes in his memoir, “Spare.” The Duke said that “some people don’t want it to work out,” leading to speculation that he might have been referring to family members who oppose reconciliation.
