Meanwhile in Florida: Man Jumps Off Bridge to Flee Police Pursuit (Video), Better Than Hiding in Swamp For a Month

Just because fugitive Brian Laundrie’s remains have been found doesn’t mean Florida cops have stopped chasing criminals. In fact, it would seem the authorities are busier than ever these days.

Take, for example, a man named Bryan K. Gray. After taking the Fort Meyers fuzz on a high-speed chase in a stolen van, he skidded to a stop on the Edison Bridge. He jumped out of the vehicle and made for the railing. He climbed over it, then hesitated for a second as he watched a patrol SUV approach. After weighing his options, he apparently decided his best move was to jump off the bridge into the Caloosahatchee River below.

We suppose this is better than hiding in a swamp for a month before eventually succumbing to suicide, but because Gray was recovered alive by a marine unit, he was subsequently charged with fleeing and eluding and grand theft auto. What they say is true: you can run – and even jump – but you can’t hide.
