Fan Brings Alpacas to Court to Show Support For Johnny Depp in Defamation Trial Against Amber Heard (Somehow the Least Bizarre Thing to Happen in This Lawsuit So Far)

We don’t know how long it will be until the defamation trial brought by Johnny Depp against Amber Heard comes to a close, but we do know it’s just going to keep getting weirder and weirder as each day goes by. The latest bizarre occurrence (though certainly not the most bizarre) is a fan who brought live Alpacas to the courthouse to show her support for the Pirates of the Caribbean star.

Her name is Andrea Diaz, and she’s from Lorton, Virginia. She has a business that involves bringing alpacas to children’s houses to boost their moods, and decided that the animal-induced warm fuzzies could be good for Depp, too. So she brought a pair of alpacas to the Fairfax County Courthouse where Depp and Heard are rehashing the most humiliating moments of their mutually abusive relationship.

“I thought the alpacas might brighten his day,” Diaz told the Washington Post. “I figured I would just give it a shot.”

The emotional support animals, named Dolce and Inti, are impeccably (but stupidly) groomed like poodles and are adorned with brightly colored pompoms. One wears a sign that reads, “We’re with you Johnny.” Diaz stations herself with the alpacas outside the front of the courthouse, which is somewhat counterproductive because Depp uses a gated entrance in back. She’s unsure if he even sees them.

Still, there’s no deterring her – or the hundreds of other gawkers that show up every day hoping for a front-row seat to this shitshow. Starting at 7 a.m. every morning, 100 wristbands are handed out. People line up well before that for a chance to see the defamation trial drama firsthand. Some even offer to buy the wristbands off others. Despite the proceedings demonstrating that Depp is just as much of an attention-hungry douchebag as Heard, many more people seem to be voicing their support for him, coming from as far away as Australia to witness this ridiculous trial.

Those who don’t make it into the courtroom often wait for the day’s proceedings to end, then scramble to catch a glimpse of – or if they’re lucky, a wave from – Depp as he gets in his Cadillac Escalade before heading back to his hotel.

In our humble opinion, everyone’s a loser in this case, especially those poor kids who aren’t getting their emotional support alpacas because they’re too busy being paraded around in support of Depp.
