A royal expert claimed that the upcoming Princess Diana documentary could shed light on her concerns about her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. They added that Diana worried Harry might struggle to gain recognition while living in William’s shadow. These bold comments come amid Harry’s plans to make a documentary about Diana on the 30th anniversary of her death, with Meghan Markle serving as the narrator.
Expert reveals Princess Diana’s worry about Prince Harry
In a recent conversation with Fox News Digital, British royals expert Christopher Andersen disclosed the concerns Princess Diana held about her two sons. He said, “Diana worried from the beginning that Harry might wither in the shadow of his brother, the future king.”
He said that Prince William also held the same concerns as his mother, Diana. However, he always tried his best and went out of his way to protect Harry’s feelings. “It’s very telling that, in his last conversation with Diana just hours before her death, William expressed his fear that a photo opportunity at Eton might leave Harry feeling ignored,” he explained. The three-part documentary in question is likely to feature the long recordings Diana made with her friend, Dr. James Colthurst, in 1991.
Another expert, Kinsey Schofield, earlier mentioned that Harry’s Princess Diana movie could deepen the rift between him and Prince William. She said that the project has become even more problematic since Markle is involved creatively and Prince Harry has often drawn comparisons between his mother and wife. “If the documentary began using Diana’s experiences to reinforce Harry and Meghan’s existing narrative about themselves, I think that would be where it becomes too much for William,” she noted. These comments also come amid Prince Harry’s recent comments about bettering his relationship with King Charles and Prince William in a recent interview with GQ.
