Friend Erick Orellana says Hayden Panettiere’s back pain became severe enough to interfere with moving her legs
Hayden Panettiere’s friend Erick Orellana detailed the severity of her health issues that ultimately claimed her life. Orellana told Page Six, “I know she suffered earlier this year with her back.” Orellana, also a hairdresser, elucidated that the late actress’ pain was “really severe,” to the extent that it affected her leg movement. “At one point, it was even hard for her to move her legs,” Orellana dished.
The Nashville star was photographed in March with her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, at Los Angeles International Airport. Panettiere used crutches for mobility, and her hairdresser friend added that she was “starting to be on the mend.”
A second source echoed Orellana’s sentiments and chimed in that the late actress had other health issues as well. The source said: “Earlier this year, she did seem a little tired at times. But she was a night owl, and… she has a lot on her plate.” The insider also alleged that the Remember The Titans star “suffered from anxiety at times” and would “occasionally take medication for that. And every so often that could impact her speech.”
Panettiere passed away in Greenville, South Carolina, on Sunday, August 16. Authorities made efforts to resuscitate her, but after multiple failed efforts, she was pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m.
Her father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed her passing in a statement. He said: “It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen. We ask for privacy as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss.”
