Trump, 80, praised Minaj’s physique before she took the stage at the Port Huron event. He told the crowd he had spotted “one hell of a beautiful a–” before adding, “That’s hard to miss.”
The comments followed a pattern of Trump discussing Republican allies’ bodies during his midterm rally tour. He had previously fixated on Ohio Sen. Jon Husted’s physique at a North Carolina rally last Tuesday. Trump told that crowd he had been “studying his body” and described the 59-year-old senator’s build as “a pile of muscle.”
At the Michigan event, Trump repeated the Husted anecdote before pivoting to Minaj. He then asked the rapper to stand up for the audience. Trump added, “I hope Nicki wasn’t insulted, we love Nicki.” The crowd responded with chants of support.
Minaj later addressed the rally audience in Port Huron with words of loyalty. She told attendees, “It is an honor to stand with you every single time, I will continue to support you forever and ever.” Minaj also pledged future support, saying, “If you run again, I will support you again.” The rally was held to boost Republican Senate candidate and former U.S. Representative Mike Rogers.
