As Meghan Markle gears up to sell As Ever products in the UK, a new poll suggests that royal fans are not interested. Eighteen months ago, the lifestyle brand launched in the US alongside her Netflix cooking show, With Love, Meghan. Now that the Sussexes have moved to the UK for an “extended” period, the former actress is looking to expand her business.
Royal fans give a blunt verdict on Meghan Markle’s As Ever plans
Meghan Markle‘s plans to bring As Ever to the UK might not prove very fruitful, as royal fans have already given a blunt verdict before the brand even launched. The Daily Express started a poll on October 12, shortly after 10 am, asking its readers whether they would buy As Ever products when they start selling in the UK.
Ending at 3.30 pm on October 13, the poll found that 99 percent of The Daily Express readers voted “No.” While 1 percent of readers claimed that they would buy, 0 percent said they don’t know. Several voters also shared their honest opinions regarding their refusal to buy As Ever products.
One voter wrote, “Not a hope in hell …apart from which I can’t afford anything of hers doesn’t she know we’re in a cost of living crisis.”
Another said, “No because I don’t like her and never will. She thinks she can do what she wants and get away with it. I will never forget what she has said about this country.” Someone else remarked, “No! Much rather buy from the King’s Trust. They sell everything she sells and more.”
Markle’s brand allegedly hit a roadblock earlier this month. The Sun reported that two of her products will not be available to buy in the UK immediately after launch. While fans will be able to buy tins of herbal tea, scented candles and leather bookmarks, the jams and flower sprinkles will not be available due to restrictions around importing consumable goods.
