Meghan Markle’s Latest Nottingham Fashion Moment Has a Kate Middleton Twist — Expert

Meghan Markle seems to have paid tribute to Kate Middleton through her fashion choice during her latest Nottingham visit. This was Markle and Prince Harry’s first public outing since their return to the UK. For it, she sported a £1,495 “Dona” wool and cashmere-blend coat by a famous British label.

Alicia Liberty suggested that Meghan Markle may have sent a subtle message to the British public through her fashion choices during her recent charity visit to Nottingham with Prince Harry. According to the expert, Markle’s outfit evoked the early days of her journey as the Duchess of Sussex, while potentially drawing a comparison with Princess Catherine’s signature style.

“Meghan wore the £1,495 ‘Dona’ wool and cashmere-blend coat from British luxury label Joseph. And could her choice of designer and colour also be interpreted as a subtle nod of respect to Princess Catherine, who has championed the British label and famously embraced burgundy for one of her most memorable diplomatic appearances?” she commented on Markle’s latest outfit.

Liberty noted that Markle’s oversized Joseph coat, burgundy palette, and monochromatic styling, complemented by a sleek ponytail, recalled one of Catherine’s memorable public appearances, as reported by The Daily Express.

Harry and Markle recently visited three charitable organizations in Nottingham: Community Recording Studio, Himmah Food Bank, and Epic Partners. The Nottingham visit was particularly significant for the couple, as the city was where they made their first public appearance together following their engagement announcement in 2017.

According to The Times, the latest charity visits could establish a pattern for the couple’s future public engagements in the UK. The outings came more than a month after they reportedly relocated to the country for an extended stay. The couple is currently living in private accommodation outside London and does not receive taxpayer-funded security.

Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace recently clarified that the Sussexes are “private individuals” and that their charitable activities are personal rather than affiliated with the royal family.
