Kyle Kennedy has passed away at the age of 42
According to an obituary posted on the official website of Burke Funeral Homes, Kyle Kennedy passed away at her Westwood home on September 21, 2026. A Westwood town clerk told People Magazine that the cause of her death is still pending.
Kyle was an educator and dedicated most of her career to advocating for “educational reform for disadvantaged children and for people living with disabilities,” as per her obituary. Kyle is survived by her sons, Declan and Conor, aged 10 and 12, respectively, and her mother, Victoria.
Although no underlying conditions related to her health are mentioned in her obituary, it states that she suffered a major injury in 2020.
It reads, “In 2020, Kyle suffered a severe spinal cord injury that resulted in long term paralysis, disability, and other medical challenges. The years that followed brought struggles but Kyle fought to maintain her dry wit and determination through it all, trying to be the best possible mother to her sons and caring for her two beloved, ill-behaved Wheaten terriers.”
It was also revealed that her funeral services were held in private with the attendance of family and friends.
Kyle’s aunt, Rory Kennedy, also paid tribute to the educator following her death and released a statement. She told People, “Kyle was a wonder – as mother of her beautiful boys, as a daughter, a sister, a friend. And as an educator, too. She will be deeply missed.” She also described Kyle as “funny and fierce.”
