Prince Harry Accused of Causing ‘Scars’ to Royal Family — Expert

Prince Harry’s recent remarks about family rifts have sparked fresh criticism. A royal expert claimed the Duke of Sussex caused many of the wounds he now speaks about publicly. The comments followed Harry’s latest interview with GQ, where he reflected on reconciliation and lasting emotional scars. During the sit-down, he also addressed his strained relationships with King Charles and Prince William.

Expert criticizes Prince Harry for discussing family wounds publicly instead of apologizing

Prince Harry is facing renewed criticism after opening up about his fractured relationship with the royal family. During a recent GQ interview, the Duke of Sussex said some family “scars” never fully heal. He also shared that he wants to repair broken relationships, although not everyone feels the same.

His remarks quickly became a talking point on The Mirror’s Pod Save The King podcast. Royal editor Russell Myers strongly disagreed with Harry’s comments. He argued that the Duke was responsible for creating many of the family divisions.

“I mean talking about scars sticking around forever, he was the one who caused these scars,” Myers said. He added that Prince Harry “put the knife in” through his public interviews and memoir. He then questioned why Harry continued discussing private matters instead of apologizing.

Deputy royal editor Jennifer Newton suggested Harry may believe public interviews are now his only way to communicate with Prince William. Reports have long claimed the brothers remain estranged, with little or no direct contact between them.

However, Myers insisted the royal family may still struggle to move past Harry’s previous public statements. He referenced Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey and his memoir “Spare” as examples of lasting damage. Myers also argued that Harry cannot expect reconciliation without acknowledging his own role in the fallout.

Harry’s GQ interview came just months after he returned to the United Kingdom with Meghan Markle and their children. During the conversation, he spoke about wanting peace rather than family drama. His team later clarified that his comments about “drama” were made in a broader context and were not directed specifically at his relatives. The debate highlights how Harry’s public reflections continue to divide royal watchers, with supporters and critics interpreting his remarks in very different ways.
