Prince Harry’s latest interview could reportedly make reconciliation with Prince William more difficult. According to a royal expert, the Duke of Sussex openly discussing the family feud fuelled William’s fears. The Prince of Wales has seemingly feared the Sussexes making private matters public. Hence, Harry’s recent move may have worsened his chances of mending things with his brother.
Prince Harry speaking publicly about royal reconciliation fuels Prince William’s fear, per expert
Prince Harry’s recent “mistake” could jeopardize reconciliation with Prince William. Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams addressed the Duke of Sussex’s latest GQ interview. In it, the father of two talked about the family feud and said that “some people don’t want it to work out.” The comment was reported as a dig at his brother.
Fitzwilliams told Fox News that Harry’s remark might make the royals take a step back if they thought of reconciliation. “The peace offering is already undermined as it is public. That continues to be his big mistake. He cannot be trusted,” the expert said.
He recalled that the Sussexes have badmouthed the royal family multiple times in the past. They have slammed the royals on the infamous Oprah Winfrey interview, a Netflix documentary, and in Harry’s memoir, “Spare.” Since then, the relationship between Harry and his family has turned sour. Although he has returned to Britain and reconciled with King Charles, the same cannot be assumed with William.
Now, Harry’s GQ interview has made experts believe that the Prince of Wales might never trust his younger sibling. Royal broadcaster Helena Chard told the outlet that Harry’s move to speak publicly about royal reconciliations “proves Prince William’s fear — anything said in private will end up in print.” Furthermore, she claimed the palace allegedly doesn’t “trust Harry and Meghan.”
Meanwhile, the Duke’s spokesperson released a statement after the interview backlash. They stated that Harry spoke in a “general context and was not directed at his family in any way.”
