Mandatory Tweets: The Funniest Twitter Reactions to Elon Musk’s Cover Model Mom

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the release of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. The infamous mag was once beloved by prepubescent boys for its masturbation fantasy potential. Now that everything from hardcore porn to seductive bikini photos is available on the internet everywhere from YouTube to Instagram, we’re not even sure who’d bother to pick up an issue. Elon Musk, maybe?

Gone are the days when there was one cookie-cutter kind of model (best described as hot, thin, and busty) in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue spread. Now, the magazine has swung to the other extreme, exhibiting a diverse array of body shapes.

Is the magazine better for it? Depends on what it represents, we suppose. If it’s still meant to be visually stimulating, well, no. The models aren’t getting hotter. If it’s supposed to be some kind of important cultural touchstone (LOL), then we suppose some people are pleased that SI is objectifying all kinds of women now?

One of the more controversial models in this year’s crop was Maye Musk, the woman who birthed entrepreneurial A-hole Elon Musk. At 74 years old, Maye is the oldest woman to ever appear in the Swimsuit Issue.

Maye has actually had a career as a model, though she isn’t much to look at now – unless you’re into that GILF kind of thing, like this guy:

And while some praised SI for its age inclusivity, many more on the internet had serious clapback for including the elderly in what was previously a sexy spread. In honor of those critics, we rounded up the funniest reactions to Elon Musk’s cover model mom.
