German Court Says Its Citizens Are Still Allowed To Fart In Public

Loading up on wiener schnitzel and sauerkraut and then unloading their byproduct out of your anus while you’re still in a public place is still legal in Germany, and it won’t result in an outrageous fine from police officers who can’t stand the smell of what you just dealt.

According to the Evening Standard, a judge inside a Berlin courtroom last week ruled in favor of a defendant known only as Christoph S. after a female police officer dropped 900 euros worth of fines on him when he dropped ass twice in front of her in February 2016.

Perhaps nobody summed it up better than Christoph’s lawyer Daniel Werner, who said, “That a group leader of the police sees the honor of a colleague injured by a fart is one thing. But the fact that the prosecutor’s office and the court allow the prosecution is a clear case of official failure.”

The judge agreed with Werner and took only a few minutes to rule in his client’s favor.

No word on what Christoph ate on that fateful February day that eventually resulted in a couple of farts that were so putrid that they “insulted the officer’s honor,” but it sounds to us like Taco Bell has finally made a run across the German border.
