According to Yahoo! News, the city of Rio de Janeiro is in the midst of such a horrific financial crisis that everyday citizens are having to purchase things like toilet paper and other basic hygiene items for the police force or else they’ll go without.

Imagine that for a second. Here you are, putting your life on the line trying to protect the millions of innocent, good-hearted citizens of a city being ravaged by violent crime, and the government can’t even give you something to wipe your ass with in return for your service.
That’s why people like Maria Thereza Sombra are stepping up to the plate to make sure the city’s finest can clean their bums after doing their daily duty.
“If the police have their hands tied what will happen to us?” Sombra said. “We have to help those who are defending us. Otherwise no one will be able to go out of their homes.”
Jesus.
Maybe America isn’t so bad after all, kids.
