‘Stranger Things 4’ Trailer Teases Triumphant Return of the Sleepless Hard TV Binge

Normcore Eleven. Shirtless Steve. The return of Paul Reiser. And a brand new baddie from The Upside Down. Judging from the latest trailer, Stranger Things 4 is shaping up to be one epic return for the ultimate dream binge destined to give you nightmares.

After a three-year wait, the not-so-young-anymore kids of Hawkins are back to face the next level of darkness. And just as we all hoped, things look bigger and badder than ever before.

According to the Duffer Brothers: “With…a runtime nearly twice the length of any previous season, Stranger Things 4 was the most challenging season yet, but also the most rewarding one.”

Here’s what we know so far.

Hopper is alive and well in a Russian prison sharpening his monster-slaying skills via a flaming spear. Meanwhile, Eleven and Mike have relocated to sunny California leaving the rest of the gang back in Hawkins to discover a creepy old house that holds a portal to the other side. There’s also a new villain named Vecna, a Joyce and Murray Bauman rescue mission gone wrong, and for some reason, lots of bats.

While the true fate of Billy, Grigori, and Dr. Brenner remains unknown, the biggest mystery has got to be the dude playing metal guitar in the dystopian wreckage of the Upside Down. (Who the hell is that guy?) Or perhaps the hidden meaning behind the ominously ticking grandfather clock. (Is it a signal that the end is nigh or just a reminder of how late we’ll be staying up to binge every episode while ignoring all earthly responsibilities?)

All questions will soon be answered when volume one of Stranger Things 4 drops on May 27 (followed by volume two on July 1). Until then, suckle upon these beefy trailers. Oh, and stock up on sleep. You’ll need it.
