Woman Snorkeling On Her Honeymoon Gets Bitten By Shark

Man, sharks are pissed at humans this week.

According to UPI, Sarah Illig was recently being filmed by her new husband Evan Carroll while she was “snorkeling in the clear waters of the Caribbean while on their honeymoon” and while her bikini bottoms left little to the imagination.

So far, great story.

But out of nowhere, a large nurse shark not only invaded Illig’s personal space but also sank its teeth down hard into her arm.

“Mid snorkeling with the sharks I felt a whoosh of water, something clamp down on my arm and assumed my husband was playing a prank of me,” Illig wrote in the video’s description. “Less than a second later I realized how much it hurt and looked past where my goggles were blocking my side vision to see the shark (bigger than myself) latched on to my arm. I pulled it away/the combination of the shark releasing and got out of there.”

Scary stuff unless you’re Illig’s new husband and quickly realized you made a mistake like Ben Stiller did in The Heartbreak Kid. Then, it’s sadly a missed opportunity.

That’s likely not the case, though. To us, Illig seems like a solid human being, as she still took time out of her day to remind everyone that nurse sharks usually aren’t biters despite the fact that one had just latched on her arm.

“Disclaimer: This is a five foot nurse shark that typically never bite unless provoked via tail pulling, feeding, etc. There was no tail pulling or feeding during my snorkel with them (as you can clearly see via video),” she wrote.
