The B-Movies Podcast #282 | Let’s Go, Ghostbusters!

We ain’t afraid of no Ghostbusters reboot! This week on The B-Movies Podcast, film critics William Bibbiani and Witney Seibold are reviewing one of the most talked about movies in years, Ghostbusters, which forges a new direction for the iconic franchise (to the consternation of some of the fans). How does it hold up against the original? We’re reviewing the film based on actually seeing it on this week’s episode.

Also this week, Bibbs and Witney review the Woody Allen movie Café Society and the Asylum “mockbuster” Sinister Squad. They also consider a meaningful response to their choice for The Best Film of 1991. We encourage you all to read this powerful critique of The Silence of the Lambs, which looks at the film as a work of transmisogyny, and consider the impact the film has had on the LGBTQ community. It’s a valid perspective, but does it ruin the movie forever? It’s a complex discussion and Bibbs and Witney attempt to address it on this week’s episode, as best they can.

Plus, we keep getting your letters, so we keep reading them on the air! Be sure to drop us a line at bmoviespodcast@gmail.com with your comments, opinions, suggestions, the films that inspire you and your questions about Bibbs and Witney.
