Does Alan Ritchson’s Runner Have Post-Credits Scenes? We Finally Have the Answer

Alan Ritchson takes on another high-stakes action role with Runner, a fast-moving thriller built around a dangerous medical mission. The film pairs him with Owen Wilson as two unlikely allies forced to outrun a ruthless cartel while racing against time to save a young girl’s life. Now with the movie playing in theatres, fans are wondering if it contains a post-credit scene.

WARNING: Spoilers ahead!

Alan Ritchson’s Runner movie post-credits scene status revealed

Anyone waiting through the credits for an extra Runner surprise can head out early. Alan Ritchson’s latest action thriller does not add a post-credits sequence. The story is contained within the main feature and doesn’t plant a secret sequel hook.

The movie puts Ritchson in the role of Hank Malone, a former soldier whose latest assignment quickly spirals out of control. Working alongside Owen Wilson’s Ben Bishop, Hank must help deliver vital medicine to an ill child. What should have been a life-saving mission turns into a desperate fight to stay alive when a violent cartel begins hunting them down.

Runner arrived in U.S. theaters Sept. 11, 2026, with Angel Studios handling its release. Scott Waugh directs the 97-minute PG-13 action movie from a script by Miles Hubley and Tommy White, with Leila George, Kate Box and Rodrigo Santoro among the principal cast.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film currently has a 66% Tomatometer score based on multiple reviews. Critics have given the movie credit for its fast-moving action and unapologetic B-movie energy, though the familiar plot and inconsistent comedy have drawn criticism.

Ritchson continues to lean into action-driven roles following the success of Reacher, the series that made him a household name. His previous credits include The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Fast X, Titans, and Ordinary Angels, giving Runner another spot in an increasingly action-focused filmography. Ritchson also starred in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare alongside Henry Cavill, and will also appear in a Reacher spin-off titled Neagley on Prime Video.
