All My Children Star Alan Dysert Passes Away, Read Wife Michele’s Statement

Alan Dysert, best known for playing Sean Cudahy on the ABC show All My Children, has sadly passed away. His wife, Michele Dysert, announced his passing in a Facebook statement, revealing that the actor died on October 23, 2026. He was 75 years old.

In the Facebook statement, Michele paid tribute to her husband by reflecting on their life together and celebrating his career. She wrote, “My heart is broken as I share that my beloved husband, Alan, passed away on October 23, 2026. While I am struggling to imagine life without him, I am forever grateful to have experienced what so many people spend their lives searching for — the love of a lifetime.”

In her post, she described Alan’s life as “extraordinary,” as he went from humble beginnings as a farm boy in Illinois to an actor, musician, writer, filmmaker, producer, and later on, an acting teacher. Michele also called her late husband a “life changer.”

Furthermore, she noted that her late husband had an incredible gift for storytelling, a wonderful sense of humor, an adventurous spirit, and a personality that “could fill any room,” adding, “His life was filled with remarkable experiences, fascinating people, and enough stories for several lifetimes. And he loved sharing them! But behind all those accomplishments was the man I was fortunate enough to call my husband, my partner, and my best friend.”

Reflecting on their marriage and relationship, which took place in January 2008, she stated, “We shared a love that was truly special. We loved traveling together, laughing together, and simply being together. We never needed a room full of people or an elaborate plan to enjoy ourselves. We genuinely loved each other’s company. Even after all our years together, life with Alan was never boring.”

In the tribute, Michele also spoke about the health challenges Alan had been facing for years. Although his wife did not state his cause of death, Alan had been open about his medical journey. For instance, in his 2023 autobiography, Lights, Camera, Cancer!, he revealed that he had undergone four major surgeries and multiple chemotherapy sessions after being diagnosed with a rare, aggressive, and incurable form of cancer. However, Alan also wrote that he wanted his children, grandchildren, family, and friends to celebrate his life rather than mourn his passing.

Towards the end of the statement, Michele highlighted Alan’s wishes: “He understood that life was an adventure, that tomorrow was never guaranteed, and that the greatest treasures weren’t things, but the people and experiences that made life meaningful. So today, even through my tears, I want to honor his wishes and celebrate the remarkable life he lived. To his sons, Cody and Cooper, all of our incredible family, his friends, his students, and everyone whose life he touched — I hope you’ll remember Alan with a smile, share a favorite story, and celebrate the joy he brought into this world.”

Michele concluded her letter by expressing her gratitude towards Alan, “Thank you for loving me, for making me laugh, for the adventures, the memories, and the beautiful life we built together. I would choose you all over again, without hesitation. My heart is broken, but I am so thankful for the love of a lifetime.”

Apart from All My Children, Alan’s acting credits include The Grift, The Senator, The Legend of Van Dorn, Two Weeks, and Working It Out.

Mandatory extends its heartfelt condolences to Dysert’s family and friends during this difficult time.
