iPhone 6 Killer? Samsung is Working on the Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung is beginning work on the Samsung Galaxy S6, and reports suggest that the company will be going all-out to compete with Apple’s iPhone 6, with the company even giving the smartphone the codename “Project Zero,” indicating that this could be an entirely fresh start for the line of devices.

Sources close to the project allegedly contacted SamMobile, where it was revealed that the Korean tech giant is not following the ongoing trend of codenaming its devices using letters of the alphabet, instead opting to call it Project Zero.

The past four Galaxy devices were named Project J (Galaxy S4), Project H (Galaxy Note 3), Project K (Galaxy S5) and Project T (Galaxy Note 4) respectively, and according to the aforementioned sources this change of codename is a hint that we can expect something very different from the company this time around.

Here’s a list of the reported specs the upcoming device will boast.

  • Quad HD (2560×1440) display
  • IMX240 camera sensor
  • 5-megapixel front-facing camera
  • Exynos 7420 64-bit processor
  • 3GB RAM

The report doesn’t state what the phone’s screen size will be, but given that Apple is now making a big push to increase the size of the iPhone, we expect it to be roughly the size of a television.
