As per royal expert Rachel Sylvester, a friend of King Charles has shared that the monarch is “dismayed” by Prince William’s recent decision. Sylvester posted on X with the caption: “The King is dismayed by Prince William’s decision to sell off parts of the Duchy of Cornwall in rural Devon. ‘It’s absolutely not what the King would ever have done,’ says one friend of the monarch in today’s The Observer UK.”
Sylvester has elaborated on the matter in The Observer, quoting residents who fear they will be abandoned amid the future king’s Bradninch estate sale in Devon. Residents have raised concerns with the outlet that this will severely affect farming families and renters. This move gives them six months to either buy their properties or vacate them.
Despite William’s assurances of support, the decision has not gone down well with everyone.
Mary Ryan, a Bradninch resident, fired at the Prince of Wales, stating: “Prince William will never know what it’s like to get to the end of the month without enough money to pay his bills. He’ll never know what it is not to have one or many roofs over his head.”
Another resident stated that they had been a royalist all their life. The resident branded Charles as “fantastic” and bashed the future king, stating, “He can go to hell.” Fans on the internet have urged William to pay more attention to the helplessness of the citizens.
