Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce sent fans into a frenzy when they announced their engagement in August last year. The high-profile couple reportedly tied the knot on July 3 this year in a lavish wedding ceremony at New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden. However, the “Lover” singer and the NFL star have kept the details of their much-anticipated celebration under wraps.
Despite their efforts to maintain privacy, rumors about the couple’s big day have continued to circulate online. Now, a new report claims that Swift and Kelce had to scrap a surprise element reportedly worth $7 million from their MSG wedding. According to a source, the couple had a specific reason for making the decision.
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly scrapped a $7 million carousel from their lavish MSG wedding
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce reportedly scrapped a carousel worth $7 million from their lavish wedding at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. According to the Daily Mail, design renderings obtained by the publication showed plans for a two-story carousel at the celebrity couple’s wedding.
However, a source revealed that the attraction came with an “astronomical” price tag, prompting the “Eldest Daughter” singer and the NFL star to reportedly drop it from their celebration.
The insider told the publication, “The carousel was going to be like $7 million.” Even scaling the attraction down to a single-story model reportedly would have cost $3.5 million, according to the source.
Meanwhile, Tara Guérard, a veteran celebrity wedding planner who was not involved in Swift and Kelce’s reported MSG wedding, shared her thoughts on the couple’s decision to scrap the extravagant feature.
Speaking to the publication, Guérard said, “That was a great thing to scrap because it’s hard to get something in like that [to the venue].” She also questioned whether the attraction suited the occasion, explaining, “I also think that it’s just too young. They’re not ten years old, and your guests aren’t ten years old, and it’s not a children’s party.”
Guérard further emphasized her reservations about including the attraction at a wedding, adding, “I personally just don’t think it’s necessarily appropriate for a wedding.”
