Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s UK Return Brings a Big Change in Their Career — Insider

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will make their first appearance together since their UK return. The Duke and Duchess will appear on October 15 in Nottingham, but joint appearances won’t be a regular occurrence for now. This is reportedly because the couple now have different professional priorities.

Insider says Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have ‘different priorities’

As per The Telegraph, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have separate priorities after their relocation, and joint appearances like the October 15 one will be rare. The source said the Duke’s professional priority “is his philanthropic work and public service.” Meanwhile, the Duchess’ “focus is on her family and children, followed by her business [As Ever], followed by rebooting her acting career.” The insider continued, “Her public appearances will be relatively rare.”

As per the source, Markle “is reading a lot of scripts at the moment.” The source explained that charity work would only fit into Meghan’s schedule if she had time to spare after managing her other responsibilities.

Unlike working royals, she reportedly does not follow a schedule planned by a private secretary. Instead, her commitments as a full-time mother and entrepreneur already demand considerable time and effort. According to the outlet, Markle is planning to bring As Ever to the U.K. by the end of this year.

A source said the Sussexes’ “joint charitable engagements will not be a regular part of their work.” For the unaware, Nottingham is the place Harry and Markle made their first joint appearance after their engagement announcement in 2017. The source said the October 15 visit “obviously won’t be on the same scale as 2017.”

The source further explained that they lack the influence to arrange road closures, set up barricades, or secure police support for public walkabouts. Instead of meeting people through traditional royal-style engagements, their approach allegedly is to focus on the events they attend and the causes they aim to champion.

The insider noted, “There will be less handshaking,” as the couple “don’t have that same responsibility to do that kind of thing anymore.”
