Prince Harry could reportedly face a difficult conversation with his father, King Charles, following his surprise return to the UK. According to multiple reports, the Sussexes returned to the UK on August 26. Harry and Meghan plan on staying in Britain for an extended period of time along with their children. King Charles was reportedly made aware of the couple’s plans weeks before the news appeared in the media.

Per The Mirror’s Save The King podcast, Prince Harry may have to explain his decision to return to the UK to King Charles. The monarch, like the rest of the royal family, was seemingly informed of the Sussexes’ move at the eleventh hour. Royal sources dished to the podcast that the King was “blindsided” by the news.
A royal source said the king is ecstatic about seeing his grandchildren more often. However, he remains concerned about Harry and Meghan’s “true motivation” for returning to the UK. This is especially after everything that has happened since the Sussexes stepped down as working royals.
As per The Mirror’s editors Russell Myers and Jennifer Newton, Harry may need to explain his decision to the King.
Myers revealed that once Harry and Meghan relocate to the UK, they will have to meet the King and explain their return to Britain. Newton agreed and added that this may not be easy considering Charles was not kept in the loop about the move.
Newton also reminded Myers that there have been very few meetings with the King. She added that the second meeting happened in July at Highgrove House. “More regular meetings here and there and mending that relationship over time would lead to a more public reconciliation, but we’ll have to wait and see,” she added.
