Ray Stevens Breaks His Neck After Scary Fall

Grammy winner Ray Stevens broke his neck after an unfortunate fall and is in the process of recovery. Stevens suffered a fall last month on March 29. However, his accident hasn’t impacted the release of his forthcoming album. The two-time Grammy winner is all set to release his new album, Favorites Old & New, which is due Friday, April 10, via Curb Records.

Ray Stevens’ unfortunate neck injury after a scary fall hasn’t dampened his spirits after all. As per a press release shared with PEOPLE, Stevens was “briefly hospitalized in the Nashville area and is now recovering at home.” Doctors have advised the singer to wear a neck brace for “approximately four weeks.”

However, the press release assured his fans and well-wishers that Stevens remains “fully mobile and in good spirits as he continues his recovery.” The two-time Grammy winner is gearing up for the release of his new album, Favorites Old & New.

As the name suggests, the 13-track album “features a curated mix of beloved standards alongside new selections from a range of talented songwriters.” The upcoming record will include evergreen classics such as “The Look of Love,” “It Had To Be You,” and “Come Rain or Come Shine.” Notably, it will also include songs appealing to a new generation of fans, such as “I Guess You’ve Never Been in Love with the Moon,” “Moving Out Is Easier Than Moving On,” and “Time Machine.”

Despite his injury, Stevens is excited for the release of his forthcoming album and hopes that fans like it as well. “I had a lot of fun creating this album, Favorites Old & New. It really does contain a few of my favorite old songs as well as favorite new ones penned by some talented writers. I just hope Ray Stevens fans enjoy it as much as Ray Stevens!” Fans have sent their well-wishes for the Grammy winner. One fan commented, “Oh no, prayers his way… a legend…” A second fan wrote, “Love you, Ray — praying for a full recovery!”
