Jon Stewart Launches “Kickstarter” Campaign to Buy CNN

The Daily Show host Jon Stewart has revealed a plan for overhauling the “awful” CNN, and that plan is to launch a Kickstarter campaign which can allow backers to host a Hunger Games-esque battle between the news channel’s anchors.

The campaign is, of course, not real, but the site that Stewart has set up for it – LetsBuyCNN.com – is an hilarious look at what the channel would look like if placed in the hands of the satirist.

Stewart said of the “campaign”: “CNN, America’s first 24-hour cable news network, has been terrible for many, many years. Does it have to be that way? Who knows, maybe it does. So let’s find out for ourselves!”

Stewart has offered up some incentives for backers of the fictional Kickstarter, including the chance to “take molly with Fareed Zakaria” for $25,000, have CNN host a “24/7, 2 week hunt for your car keys” for $5 million and, for the low price of $10,000, you can appear in a CNN 6 box.
