What do you get when you mix mezcal and Breaking Bad? An incredible spirit perfect for Cinco de Mayo.

If you’re a fan of drama-filled, edge-of-your-seat television, you probably joined all of us on the thrill ride that was Breaking Bad. The story of a high school chemistry teacher dying of cancer who decided to “break bad” and sell drugs, eventually becoming a drug lord, aired on AMC from 2008 until 2013. While to many, the finale wrapped everything up with Walt and Jesse, the actors who played them weren’t ready to give up their friendship.

That’s why the duo of Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul co-founded Dos Hombres in 2019. The mezcal company’s name comes from the Spanish words “dos” and “hombres” which means “two men.” The name has some meaning for the pair because they have described themselves in interviews as “two guys on a quest.” They’re going on that journey together through their agave-based spirit. While the two had more of a tumultuous father/son relationship on the show, in real life they seem more like best buds.

The mezcal itself is a blend of hand-picked Espadin agave that grows on the hills surrounding a tiny village in Oaxaca, Mexico. Great for slow sipping or as a base for your favorite margarita, paloma, or other mezcal or tequila-based cocktail, it comes in classic Espadin and limited-edition Tobala varieties.
