As Ashley Madison customers continue to rock back and forth filled with nervousness that their information will be revealed, there is one city where people may be the most nervous: Ottawa, Canada.
Recently, hackers threatened to reveal credit card information, sexual fantasies, nude photos and the real names of all the Ashley Madison customers: about 37 million of them. And Ottawa, the capital of Canada, has quite a bit of users — 20 percent of its residents are subscribed to the controversial website.
Ottawa has a population of about 883,000, and 189,810 of them are happily using Ashley Madison in hopes of finding someone to have an affair with because quietly and secretly hating your partner but not doing anything about it is so last year, apparently. Those numbers alone possibly give Ottawa the honor of having the highest number of users globally per capita.
The hackers have threatened to leak all the customers’ information, customers they refer to as “cheating dirtbags,” if the website isn’t shutdown. The website believes it is an inside job, possibly done by someone formerly connected to the company. So perhaps it’s a disgruntled former employee who has suddenly reached some moral high ground.
The mayor’s office in Ottawa did not comment on this bit of information, possibly because he is on the website as well.
In summary, if you’re looking to have an affair because you made the mistake of getting married, just know that Ottawa is filled with eager cheaters as well.
