If you’re a fan of Rick and Morty or just a super fan of McDonald’s, you’re well aware of the Szechuan sauce that was released in 1998 for a limited time to promote Mulan. And then like that it was gone. But McDonald’s recently released the sauce again and let’s just say people were eager to get their paws on it.

“There was actually a large response with some nice pins,” Marie told Business Insider. “But if I could get a car, I thought, why not ask?”

The driven negotiator managed to find a person willing to trade the single Szechuan sauce packet for a 2000 Volkswagen Golf Mk4.

“He drove the car over so I know it was running,” she said, without revealing the man’s name. “He was a dedicated fan of the show and already had a second car.” Business Insider interviewed the man, who did not give permission for his name to be used. He justified the seemingly imbalanced trade by telling the outlet he “just needed me some friggin sauce!!”

Here’s a closer look at the sauce packet that got Marie her new car.

That’s right, kids. Someone actually gave their car away for some sauce. And I think that should tell you a lot about the type of society we all live in today. But hey, that dude got his sauce, so now he can die happy.
