This Dude Got A Temporary Henna Tattoo That Scarred His Face

I’m sure you’ve seen plenty of gals all get henna tattoos when they are on vacation together – you know, something they can bond over, I guess. But a dude named Jame Colley really wishes he hadn’t gotten a henna tattoo because now he has a huge scar. Oh, and it’s on his face.

As a heads up, a well done henna tattoo is done with a “natural brown coloring” that only lasts a few days and doesn’t injure the skin. It seems that Colley had cheap black hair dye used on his instead.

Black hair dye contains paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a chemical that is banned from use on skin in the European Union because it can lead to severe burns on some people.

And Colley now knows that firsthand because while on a trip at Zakynthos Island, Greece, Colley decided to get a Mike Tyson-inspired tattoo on his face. And well…

That’s right, folks, Colley is now stuck with that scar for lord knows how long.

Here’s what Dr. Christopher Flower, Director-General of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association had to say about this:

“Having a so called ‘black henna’ temporary tattoo presents a significant risk of a very nasty adverse reaction to the tattoo itself. It also increases the risk of either not being able to use most hair dyes in the future or having a bad reaction to them if the warnings are ignored. The advice is clear, please avoid so-called ‘black henna’ temporary tattoos.”

And this tweet from Twitter probably best describes this entire situation.

Good luck, dude.
