Jenna Dewan Tatum Is Lucy Lane on CBS’ Supergirl TV Series

Over the weekend, Jenna Dewan Tatum’s husband, Channing Tatum officially closed his deal to play Gambit in an X-Men spinoff movie for Fox. Now Jenna Tatum has a superhero inspired role of her own.

According to TVLine, Tatum has been cast as Lucy Lane in Supergirl. Lucy Lane was created by comic book legends Otto Binder and Curt Swan in 1959 as a romantic foil for Jimmy Olsen and as the younger sister of Lois Lane. Prior to the New 52 reboot in DC’s comic book universe, Lucy Lane was re-envisioned as Superwoman, an adversary for Supergirl who gained superpowers from her suit while following the orders of her father, General Sam Lane.

For the Supergirl TV series, Lucy Lane will be a recurring character who has a history with the show’s Jimmy Olsen, as played by Mehcad Brooks. Tatum will make her first appearance as Lucy in the third episode of the season, as she comes to town “to right a wrong.”
