Noel Gallagher joined Johnny Marr onstage at the O2 Brixton Academy, for an encore performance of The Smiths’ classic track ‘How Soon Is Now?’ and Iggy Pop’s ‘Lust For Life’.
Former Smiths guitarist Marr is currently touring his second solo album Playland, and he used the his appearance at Brixton to bring his friend Noel to the stage. Introducing Noel, Marr said: “I’d like to introduce someone who has been a friend of mine for 20 years. One of the greatest songwriters from this country. He’s a good man, I think he’s got a big future ahead of him. Mr Noel Gallagher.”

As you can hear, the surprise encore was met with a deafening reaction from the crowd.
Noel Gallagher is set to embark on a tour of his own next year, around the release of his next album with the High Flying Birds titled Chasing Yesterday. Tickets for the tour, which is set to start in March 2015, sold out in less than 10 minutes.
