iPods would never have been a success if the brainiacs of yesteryear didn’t work out the technological kinks for our eventual leap into the digital age. Below, a 5 megabyte IBM hard disk is loaded into an airplane back in 1956. It weighed over 2,200 lbs. That’s roughly one song’s worth of data.
