Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher “Talking” About Making an Album Together

Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher, two former rivals in the famous war between Blur and Oasis, have been discussing making an album together, Damon Albarn has confirmed.

Albarn and Gallagher now class themselves as friends, despite engaging in a lengthy war of words in the 90s when the pair battled for dominance at the height of Britpop’s popularity. Even though Noel once previously said that he wished Albarn would “get AIDs and die”, the pair recently joined each other onstage to perform a rendition of Blur’s ‘Tender’ for the band’s Teenage Cancer Trust gig, which can be watched below.

Now the figurehead of Blur and former figurehead of Oasis may be collaborating together on entire album. When asked if he and Noel would ever make a record together by NME, Damon replied:  “I can imagine that being a very distinct possibility at some point in the future. But, as yet we haven’t really talked about it, although…”

He continued: “OK we have a little bit. We’re talking. It’s not anything to get excited about yet. I mean, he’s doing his thing. He’s finishing a new record. I’ve got my record coming out, but the principle of us making music together is something…you know, it would be fair to say, we have discussed it at least once.”

With Albarn continuously having his finger in an assortment of different pies, it’s not difficult to imagine this pipe dream swiftly becoming a reality. Now we simply have to play the waiting game.
