Adam Driver Confirms Devastating Star Wars News

Adam Driver has appeared in numerous films throughout his career, but many fans still remember him best for playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars franchise. However, the actor recently shared disappointing news about his potential return.

Adam Driver says his Ben Solo movie is officially dead

The two-time Oscar-nominated actor recently appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, where he discussed his career and the future of his Star Wars character. During the conversation, Driver confirmed that his proposed Ben Solo movie is no longer moving forward.

Driver said, “Yeah, yeah, it’s over. No more ‘Star Wars.’ We tried, we tried to do one more. Yeah, but they were like, no, he’s dead.” The 42-year-old actor then revealed that he and director Steven Soderbergh had worked on the project for several years after his character’s death in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

“Really and earnestly, for two years. We got a script together that was really good, with Scott Burns and Rebecca Blunt. We all worked on it. It was awesome. It was really cool,” the actor said, describing the time and effort they invested in the film.

When asked about the possibility of reviving the project, Driver said, “If they wanted to [revive it], fine, but it’s not our call. I think the ship has sailed, though.”

This wasn’t the first time Driver discussed the rejected Star Wars project. He initially revealed the plans during an interview in October 2025.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Driver revealed that he and director Steven Soderbergh had developed a proposed Star Wars spinoff titled The Hunt for Ben Solo. He explained that Lucasfilm supported their concept and script. However, Disney executives Bob Iger and Alan Bergman rejected the project when the filmmakers presented it to them.
