Rosie O’Donnell has turned her attention to Robert Kraft as the fallout from Macklemore’s removal from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. tour continues. Her latest message linked that controversy to Kraft’s name appearing in released Jeffrey Epstein-related documents. The comedian also came to Macklemore’s defense while questioning the responses from Sheeran and Pink.
Rosie O’Donnell references Robert Kraft’s inclusion in released Epstein files as she defends Macklemore
In a social media post recirculated on Reddit, Rosie O’Donnell referenced the Epstein files while weighing in on the dispute surrounding Macklemore. Her post included a poem thanking the rapper and questioning the reaction to his pro-Palestinian statements. She also asked whether free speech was “dead” in America.
The comments followed Macklemore’s claim that Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots and Gillette Stadium, played a role in his removal from the tour.
Macklemore detailed his version in an Instagram statement. He claimed Kraft told Sheeran that Macklemore could not perform at Gillette Stadium after his recent comments about Palestine. Several venues later refused to host Macklemore on the remaining tour dates. Promoter Messina Touring Group also said venue objections affected the lineup.
Kraft defended Gillette Stadium’s decision, citing what he described as Macklemore’s history of antisemitic rhetoric and imagery. Macklemore has rejected accusations that his criticism of Israel targets Jewish people.
O’Donnell’s comments about Kraft also extended beyond the tour dispute. Newly released Epstein documents mention Kraft, but the context requires care.
The Boston Globe reported that Epstein discussed Kraft’s 2019 Florida solicitation case with attorney Jack Goldberger and wanted Kraft to hire him. Goldberger later joined Kraft’s legal team.
However, the released documents showed no direct communication between Epstein and Kraft. Kraft was never arrested in the 2019 case, and the solicitation charge against him was ultimately dropped.
Rosie O’Donnell has also discussed the Epstein files recently. Earlier this month, she appeared with Epstein survivors in a video calling for support and transparency.
Her latest post now connects the Macklemore controversy with that broader focus.
