Corus Radio has canceled the Toronto-based 102.1 The Edge radio show “The Dean Blundell Show,” citing that they “will be taking 102.1 the Edge in a new direction in 2014,” general manager Dave Farough said in a statement (CTV News).
However, the show had been under scrutiny a number of times for its controversial topic matter, and it was even taken off of the air for a short period of time last year by the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council. According to CTV News, in a tweet sent out yesterday, Blundell was unapologetic as he signed off, posting, “Truly love you all. The last 13 years been the greatest time of my life. #thankful for all of you.”
