Bell Media And Corus Entertainment Announce More Fall Scheduling Plans

Bell Media has confirmed its leading slate of new and returning original entertainment programming for the 2016/17 broadcast year in advance of the #CTVUpfront presentation in Toronto. And Corus Entertainment announced its 2016/2017 programming lineup across its specialty portfolio, which features new, scripted series from high-profile Hollywood producers, first-rate unscripted content, and a standout slate of upcoming Canadian original series featuring homegrown talent.

“Bell Media creates content and stories that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with acquired programming on our channels, and we continue to be committed to creating the very best in entertainment for all our platforms,” said Randy Lennox, President of Entertainment Production and Broadcasting at Bell Media, in a press release. “If there’s a great story worth telling, we want to work with Canada’s incredible production community to tell it.”

Bell Media’s slate of new programming include dramas like Discovery’s first-ever scripted original series Frontier, with its exclusive world debut in Canada this November, starring Jason Momoa (Discovery)

Based on bestselling crime novels, the murder-mystery Cardinal starring Billy Campbell and Karinne Vanasse (CTV), and the new serialized mystery drama The Disappearance about the vanishing of a 10-year-old boy (CTV).

Corus is promoting several shows including Top Chef Canada from Food Network Canada, which makes its return  with an All-Stars edition slated for early 2017; HISTORY treks north to Edmonton International Airport in the new, original series Airport: Below Zero, which takes Canadians behind-the-scenes at North America’s most northerly big city airport; also joining HISTORY in Spring 2017 is a show profiling a team of crack investigators as they search for billions of dollars worth of treasures stolen by the Nazis in Nazi Treasure Hunters
