Trigger Warning: Child abuse

Her remarks have drawn attention amid the actress’s ongoing legal dispute with her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez.
Megyn Kelly takes issue with Halle Berry’s smile after a custody decision
During an episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly criticized the “X-Men” actress for her reaction to the recent custody ruling.
On October 29, a Los Angeles family court judge allowed Martinez to retain primary physical custody of their 13-year-old son, Maceo. However, the court also dissolved a temporary restraining order against Berry and denied Martinez’s request to make it permanent. The custody arrangement remains subject to further review.
Berry was reportedly seen smiling as she left the courthouse, prompting Kelly to question her behavior.
“Halle, you got a smile on your face. Are you happy with the outcome? What’s your reaction to the decision? Do you feel like the ruling was fair? Are you happy that this is finally over with? She’s smiling ear-to-ear. That is a very bizarre way to act. I understand spin. Trust me, I do. I’m in media,” Kelly said.
She continued, “Something’s wrong with Halle Berry. I don’t know what it is, but it’s like Joker’s smile, like the devilish ‘I’m victorious. I win in the end.’ Is what she’s trying to project with the ear-to-ear thing?”
Kelly also argued that the ruling was not a victory for Berry and suggested she should seek therapy.
According to OK! Magazine, Kelly said, “This person needs to get in with a good therapist and have long heart-to-hearts about how this happened and how she can do better as a mother.”
The remarks come amid Berry and Martinez’s ongoing custody dispute over their son.
In October, Martinez sought a restraining order against Berry, alleging that she physically assaulted Maceo during an incident in September. In court documents, he claimed she “jumped on Maceo and started physically fighting with him.”
Berry denied the allegations, maintaining that she and her son had been play-wrestling.
“As we played, I never placed my hands around Maceo’s neck. I never choked him, never restrained his breathing, never told him to tap out, or yell, ‘Who is dominant now?’ as Olivier, who was not there, falsely claims,” she stated in her filing.
The court ultimately rejected Martinez’s request for a permanent domestic violence restraining order but maintained the modified physical custody arrangement. Berry continues to share legal custody with Martinez, and the court is expected to revisit their custody arrangements in November.
