Megyn Kelly slams Nicole Kidman’s Vogue photos
During an episode of her show, The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly shared her views on Oscar winner Nicole Kidman’s latest photoshoot. She referenced allegations that artificial intelligence was used to make Kidman appear younger. Kelly then criticized the actress’ styling.
“There were allegations that they used AI to make her look younger. All while she is dressed like a teeny bopper. The woman is 60 years old. You don’t have to dress like my 15-year-old daughter,” Kelly said.
Kidman appeared in Vogue magazine earlier this month. She wore black crop tops, sequined jeans and a Chanel hat. Kelly continued to criticize the photoshoot, questioning the extent of retouching in the images.
“Why don’t you try looking fabulous at 60 instead of trying to look like a 14-year-old? It’s inappropriate, and it gives viewers the ‘ick factor.’ It makes you think, ‘What is going on here?’ She’s been watching too much Instagram. Oh Nicole, you look like a 20-year-old. There obviously has been gobs of retouching done to these photos,” Kelly said.
Kelly also questioned Kidman’s appearance in photographs compared with how she looks in moving images.
“Have you seen Nicole Kidman in any moving pictures? She looks extremely filled — her face looks puffy. It always looks puffy and stuffed. Filler at every fold. And yet, magically, on this cover, she has absolutely no age on her whatsoever,” she said.
While Kelly focused on Kidman’s appearance, the actress discussed some of the challenges she faced during her Hollywood career in her Vogue interview. Kidman recalled that people told her her height could be an obstacle to landing acting roles.
“My height was an obstacle. I was the tallest in the class, taller than all the boys. Even as an actress, I was told, ‘You’re too tall, because you’re taller than the leading man,’” Kidman said, via OK! Magazine.
The Eyes Wide Shut alum also reflected on her Hollywood career and expressed pride in making it through the challenges she encountered. While Kelly criticized Kidman’s Vogue photos, Kidman’s interview offered a glimpse into the obstacles she faced while building her career in Hollywood.
