Megyn Kelly slams Meghan Markle’s response to Thomas’ letter controversy
On The Megyn Kelly Show, Megyn Kelly slams the Duchess of Sussex’s response to a letter sent to the U.K. Metropolitan Police concerning allegations about Thomas Markle Sr. Kelly said Markle “rushed to get a statement out to convince us all we said mean things about her estrangement from her dad.”
Markle issued a statement saying she received a letter containing troubling allegations about her father, which is why she kept her distance from him. Her father, Thomas Markle Sr., is reportedly under investigation for alleged possession of child sexual imagery. Kelly called the police response to the letter “colossally f—— stupid.” Kelly also suggested Meghan was using the situation to divert attention from the royal family rift.
Kelly said, “The Times reported that the Metropolitan Police failed to act on the tip-off, and that they were unable to locate the original letter, which was addressed to their fixated threat assessment center… Meghan kept a copy of the letter and shared it with the police at their request, according to the newspaper. That was an important detail to share.” (via Ok! Magazine)
She added, “I’m sorry, I don’t think Meghan Markle’s manufacturing fake letters about her dad, but we don’t really know what the h— is going on in this case; there’s a lot of sketchiness around how this all came out, and only now do we learn that they actually never found the letter allegedly in their possession.”
Kelly also questioned whether Meghan had the letter, suggesting alleged allegations or not. She also mocked Markle’s friends and team for a lifestyle campaign and sudden release of videos. Kelly argued that instead of damage control, she rushed out their response.
