Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly ‘acted like locals’ on cozy pub date in UK
According to a report by The Sun, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited The Falkland Arms in Great Tew during their latest UK outing. The couple was photographed holding hands as they made their way toward the 16th-century pub, while their children were at school.
Inside, Meghan ordered gluten-free beer-battered haddock and chips for £18.25, while Harry opted for chicken, ham and leek pie with mashed potatoes and gravy for £17.95. The pub itself retained several traditional touches, including flagstone floors and low, beamed ceilings.
According to a pub insider, “Everyone here gets the royal treatment.” The source added, “It doesn’t matter who you are.” However, the insider stressed that “everyone is treated like a local.” When the Sussexes visited, the source said they simply “acted like locals.”
For the casual lunch date, Meghan wore a black outfit paired with white pumps. Meanwhile, Harry sported a Santa Barbara fire department cap, seemingly referencing the couple’s former California home near Montecito.
The outing marked the couple’s first photographed public appearance together in Britain since returning to the country. Their previous joint public appearance was at a gala dinner in Canada on August 7. Separately, Meghan had visited The Falkland Arms with her friend Kelly McKee Zajfen the previous week.
A friend said the Sussexes were “enjoying exploring the area including local watering holes.” The source added that Meghan had been focused on settling the children and working on As Ever. Still, the friend said that “When they aren’t working,” the couple enjoyed spending time together “like most couples.”
