Meghan Markle could be returning to acting, and a former acquaintance believes she could be a hit with audiences. The Duchess of Sussex stepped away from Hollywood after her relationship with Prince Harry began. Now, fresh comments have added a new twist to the comeback conversation.
Meghan Markle’s former friend is reportedly positive about her return to acting
Nick Ede, a PR expert who knew Meghan during her “Suits” days, believes the public could be more receptive to her than expected. He spoke to Cafe Casino on behalf of Express UK. Ede shared his thoughts on Meghan’s potential acting comeback and the public’s reception of her in the UK.
“Yes, I think the public are warming to her more than even they would have thought possible,” Ede said. He is referring to the crowds that came out to support Meghan and Prince Harry.
Ede also spoke about Meghan’s connection to Britain, suggesting she enjoys the country’s countryside and quieter surroundings. “I think that she loves the UK as a place to live and she has always been a fan of the countryside, and the Cotswolds are a beautiful place,” he explained.
Asked what Meghan might have done first upon arriving in the UK, Ede simply answered, “Probably call her English friends and go for a country walk. I know she adores the countryside and long walks.” The PR expert first met Meghan during her time on Suits and helped her arrange agency meetings as she explored professional opportunities in the UK.
Meghan played Rachel Zane on “Suits” before leaving the series in 2018, ahead of her royal wedding. Since then, she has pursued media and lifestyle projects, including her Netflix series With Love, Meghan. Meanwhile, reports linking her to another television project have been dismissed.
A Netflix insider told The Times: “This is not a show in need of stunt casting.” For now, Ede’s comments suggest he sees potential for Meghan to reconnect with audiences. However, no new acting role has been confirmed, leaving the possibility of her return to scripted television uncertain.
