Donald Trump drew attention after a new video showed him leaving Marine One without saluting. He then walked across the tarmac toward his jet. The footage also showed aide Natalie Harp following Trump up the aircraft stairs ahead of other staff members.
Internet journalist Aaron Rupar shared the clip and highlighted both moments in his caption. He noted that Trump did not salute after exiting Marine One. He also pointed out that Harp followed closely behind him.
Donald Trump misses to salute while boarding Air Force One as Natalie Harp follows
The video showed Trump stepping away from Marine One and walking toward Air Force One without saluting. His aides followed moments later, with Harp reaching the staircase before the other staff members.
Harp has become a familiar presence around Trump and frequently stays close to him during public appearances. According to The Mirror US, she also carried a portable printer. She used it to provide Trump with copies of favorable media coverage and social media posts.
As per The Mirror US, Harp’s role drew additional attention when Trump’s Truth Social account remained active during an event in Kansas. Twenty posts appeared on the account while Trump addressed the crowd alongside Republican Sen. Roger Marshall.
The posts included comments about the Biden administration, investment in the United States and projects involving Merck and Boeing. The outlet reported that Harp frequently managed Trump’s social media accounts and wrote posts that mimicked his style.
Previously recorded footage also showed Harp working on Trump’s social media accounts. A resurfaced 2024 clip from the documentary The Art of the Surge showed Harp transcribing Trump’s words for a Truth Social post. At the time, he was criticizing then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
The outlet reported that Harp had taken on responsibilities previously associated with Dan Scavino. She also remained among the few people with access to Trump’s social media accounts.
The latest tarmac footage therefore placed the White House aide Natalie Harp back in focus. While Trump’s missed salute initially drew attention, Harp’s quick move behind him also highlighted how closely she continued to work alongside the president.
