She reportedly believes the Princess of Wales influenced King Charles’ recent explosive statement that clarified the Sussexes’ status. The couple was reportedly stunned by the monarch’s directive that they should be treated as “private citizens” rather than as members of the royal family.
Royal commentators and insiders have said that Prince William also heavily influenced his father’s decision to issue the statement. They believe it is part of his plan as future king to distance the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from the monarchy.
According to a source who spoke to Closer, Markle is not letting her sister-in-law “off the hook” just yet. They shared, “She believes Kate is just as much to blame as William is, and she’s sure it’s all part of a plot to turn the King against them.” The insider noted that the pair have felt completely shut out since their return, despite trying to mend things.
