Meghan Markle is reportedly considering scripts as she explores a possible return to acting. The news came after she was linked to Netflix crime drama “The Gentlemen,” though her next project is yet to be confirmed.
Sources reveal how Meghan Markle is ‘reading scripts’ as she plans her acting return
Sources close to USA Today claim Meghan Markle is reading scripts for her return to acting. Markle’s new acting project is reportedly due to her return to the U.K. with Prince Harry and their children. Following a decade of her staying away from the industry, Markle is reportedly “being very careful to consider” new projects.
In 2017, Markle said stepping away from acting did not mean “giving anything up.” She expressed hope for “a change” and “new chapter.”
Reports linked Markle to a Netflix crime drama, “The Gentlemen,” although her involvement has not been confirmed. The season was filmed in two seasons in south-central England.
However, the former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair reported that backlash in the U.K. made it “untenable to go forward,” so Markle was dropped.
The source said that the acting project for the mother of two is yet to be decided, as she is reading scripts. Despite The Gentlemen setback, Markle is seeking scripts for her return to acting.
Before meeting Harry, Markle was known for her role as Rachel Zane in Suits. Her role was there for seven seasons before the last episode in 2018, weeks before her marriage to Harry.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle returned to the U.K. with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet after almost six years. The couple stepped down from working royals and settled in California in 2019.
Stepping away from acting, Markle explored other creative sides and business ventures, including her lifestyle brand, As Ever. Her return to the industry would mark another chapter in her career. However, she appeared in the Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan with Prince Harry.
